This gave me 6 hours of music and memories. I&#8217;d wake up early on Saturday mornings, plug in my VHS tape, and see what awesome music I captured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First song: Soul to Squeeze by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Ringmaster, Clowns, Freak Shows, Awesome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Second song: Shame by Stabbing Westward. Intro: Apartment, Night. Leggy brunette walks into scene, cut to band charging up, song starts while brunette turns up radio and begins jamming in her red undies. The next 5 hours 45 minute of this VHS didn&#8217;t matter anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hell did this come from? This is awesome. Nick stalking Julie, A cop in a bad position, the band intertwined in this entire scenario, cheering at the end, complete entertainment. I&#8217;m hooked. I buy <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wither_Blister_Burn_%26_Peel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wither Blister Burn + Peel<\/a> along with Ungod with my 1 cent from the Columbia House (along with Fear Factory, Soundgarden, etc), and successfully navigate my teenage years with both albums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Stabbing Westward - Shame\" width=\"648\" height=\"365\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CsxaoXHe9Xc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">30 years later I&#8217;m looking through archives, wondering about these actors in this music video, and I&#8217;m not the only one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Breakdown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The original band:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Christopher Hall \u2013 vocals, guitar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mark Eliopulos \u2013 guitar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jim Sellers \u2013 bass<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walter Flakus \u2013 keyboards, programming<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Andy Kubiszewski \u2013 drums<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now we need to find the 3 actors, and it starts with &#8220;Easy&#8221; and works its way to impossible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Nick&#8221; is played by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0193296\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clint Curtis<\/a>. This is easily reflected on the bands <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt8413132\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IMDb entry<\/a> for the Music Video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Julie&#8221; is played by, well, nobody knows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Cop&#8221; is played by, again, nobody knows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Search for Julie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The usual links from Wikipedia &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shame_(Stabbing_Westward_song)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shame<\/a>&#8221; don&#8217;t help, nor does any information on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt8413132\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IMDb<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/album\/wither-blister-burn-peel-mw0000179957\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AllMusic<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Julie&#8217;s most recent query that I was able to find comes from an <a href=\"https:\/\/unobtainium13.com\/2018\/10\/07\/music-video-of-the-day-shame-by-stabbing-westward-1996-directed-by-paul-cunningham\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">October 7, 2018 unobtanium13.com &#8220;Music Video of the Day&#8221;<\/a> about &#8220;Who was Julie&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some people have identified it to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0005513\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alana Ubach<\/a>. This has been debunked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have a thought it could be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm1206923\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Julie Hermelin<\/a>, a Director with previous credits in 1994 with &#8220;Nothing&#8221; (per <a href=\"https:\/\/imvdb.com\/n\/julie-hermelin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">imvdb<\/a>), but nothing to credit her to being an actress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And this is where the trail has gone cold for 30 years, and still remains even to this day&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s 1996, and I used to record music videos off the television during the night while I sleep on a VHS tape set to EP.
